From May 5–7, we exhibited at the 10th edition of Advanced Factories, the leading event for automation and digital transformation in the manufacturing sector, held at Fira Barcelona’s Gran Via venue.
Over the course of three days, our booth became a meeting point for manufacturing professionals eager to discover how technology and Artificial Intelligence are reshaping shop floor operations.
This year, we also expanded our exhibition space to create a more dynamic and interactive experience for attendees, showcasing the evolution of the Mapex MES platform alongside its latest AI-powered capabilities.

Maik and AI in industry: key highlights of the edition
Without a doubt, the main attraction at the Mapex booth was Maik, our AI assistant.
Through live demos and real-world use cases, visitors were able to see firsthand how Maik helps manufacturers optimize processes, accelerate decision-making, and improve operational efficiency across different areas of the plant.
This year, we also used the event as an opportunity to better understand the real needs of the manufacturing sector.
To do this, we hosted a collaborative brainstorming session focused on the key pain points and challenges companies are currently facing in their factories, as well as how they would like AI to help solve them.
The session provided valuable insights that will play a key role in the continued development of our products and services.
A space to share experiences on digital transformation
Another highlight of this year’s edition was the first networking event hosted directly at the Mapex booth.
The gathering was designed to encourage conversations around digital transformation, exchange experiences, and connect with customers such as Borges International Group, partners, and industry professionals interested in the capabilities of the Mapex platform and the practical applications of AI in manufacturing.
The initiative was very well received and led to highly engaging discussions about the current challenges facing the industry and the future of smart factories.

A presentation focused on real AI use cases
One of the standout moments of our participation at Advanced Factories 2026 was the presentation delivered by Manel Nesweda, Sales Director at Mapex.
During the session, Nesweda showcased the evolution of Maik after a year of working alongside customers and applying AI in real manufacturing environments.
While last year’s edition marked the first introduction of our AI assistant, this year we wanted to demonstrate how that vision is already becoming a reality through practical functionalities capable of delivering measurable operational value.
Among the key roles and capabilities of Maik presented during the session were:
AI Chatbot: turns manufacturing data into actionable insights for faster decision-making and helps identify the root cause of shop floor issues.
Shopfloor Assistant & Production Copilot: provides step-by-step guidance for the correct execution of production operations using all available company documentation.
Smart Maintenance Bot: supports maintenance teams in troubleshooting incidents by leveraging accumulated plant knowledge, including work order history, machine manuals, and technical documentation.
Smart Quality Planner: processes part drawings, automatically extracts dimensions and measurements, and converts them into quality control plans. It can also analyze images to validate quality inspection results, such as labels or visual components.
Plant Operations Agent: the next evolution of Maik, designed to act as an autonomous shop floor agent capable of detecting issues, executing actions, and monitoring resolution progress.
Maik can communicate in any language, making it easier to connect people, processes, and data across increasingly global industrial environments.
Thank you for visiting the Mapex stand at Advanced Factories 2026!
Throughout the event, attendees experienced firsthand how the Mapex MES platform delivers real-time visibility and control, enabling faster and more reliable decision-making based on fully trustworthy data.
At Mapex we would like to thank all the professionals, partners, and clients such as Familia Martínez, Ficosa, Jovi, and Congelados de Navarra for visiting us during Advanced Factories 2026.
