Mapex holds its first CAB to discuss the potential of AI in the food industry

Events like the Customer Advisory Board (CAB) help us create a collaborative space with our clients to explore new ways to optimize processes and improve the Mapex MES platform.

On Friday, October 25th, Mapex held its first Customer Advisory Board (CAB) at Torre Mapfre in Barcelona. During the event, we brought together some of our most prominent clients to discuss the challenges and opportunities that artificial intelligence (AI) offers in the food industry.

The session featured representatives from leading companies such as Borges International Group, Aneto Natural, Angulas Aguinaga, Casa Tarradellas, Embutidos Monells, and Noel Alimentaria.

All participants shared their experiences with AI and their current needs in process optimization. Through this first session, we gathered valuable insights to continue adapting our MES solution to our clients’ real demands by incorporating new technologies.

First block: use cases and internal experience with AI

In the first part of the event, the Mapex team presented various AI use cases in manufacturing.

From predictive failure detection in machinery to process optimization, these examples demonstrated how AI can be a key lever for improving operational efficiency and ensuring real-time quality.

We also took the opportunity to explain to our clients how we are applying AI at Mapex—not only to enhance our internal processes but also to improve our MES platform and actively participate in projects like ALIMENTE 21.

Second block: brainstorming with our clients

In the second part of the session, we conducted a brainstorming activity with our clients to identify MES functionalities at Mapex that could be further enhanced through the use of AI.

This session sparked an engaging debate on topics like predictive maintenance, using AI to improve production flows, reducing and managing energy consumption more efficiently, and the power of this technology to enhance both the automatic generation of reports (which we are already developing at Mapex) and KPI analysis.

Next session in Valencia

We want our clients to play an active role in shaping the future of our MES platform, which is why we are already preparing the second edition of the Mapex CAB.

For now, we can confirm that the next session will be held in Valencia. The purpose of the event will again be to create a space for dialogue and collaboration with our clients, reinforcing our commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
