Mapex enters a new phase of growth following its integration into the Proalpha Group

The transaction strengthens Mapex international growth and accelerates the evolution of its MES platform, while ensuring business continuity and long-term stability.

Barcelona, 12/19/25

Mapex, a leading Spanish provider of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions, today announces the start of a new strategic phase following its integration into the Proalpha Group, one of Europe’s leading providers of ERP and business applications for the mid-market.

The acquisition by Proalpha represents a key opportunity for Mapex to accelerate growth, innovation, and international expansion, while fully ensuring the continuity of their business, team, and technology roadmap. The closing of the transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals.

Proalpha Group: Leadership and Global Reach

Founded in 1992, Proalpha employs around 2,500 people and supports more than 17,500 customers around the world. Headquarted in Weilerbach, Germany, the company is one of Europe’s leaders providers of ERP and business applications, ensuring intelligent interconnection and efficient control of all business-critical systems and core processes.

From data analysis and artificial intelligence to supplier relationship management, quality, energy, production or human capital management, the Proalpha group have a very clear mission and commitment: to develop a digital solution platform that gives SMBs the competitive edge they need to master the constant process of transformation and change. Notable customers of Proalpha include Bausch+Ströbel, FLUX Geräte or Demmel AG.

With this acquisition, Proalpha is enhancing its portfolio with an AI-powered Manufacturing Execution System (MES), which will be integrated into its Digital Shop Floor and ERP solutions. At the same time, the Mapex platform will continue to be available as a standalone offering, optimized for use with third-party systems.

A Win-Win for Expanding into New Markets

“With its AI-powered MES platform designed not only for discrete manufacturing but also for other key industries such as food & beverage and chemicals, Mapex fits perfectly with our quality and energy management solutions in the Digital Shop Floor business unit,” emphasizes Christoph Kull, President of Business Applications at the Proalpha Group. “With this acquisition, we also gain direct access to the Spanish market, one of the largest economies in the European Union. This allows us to address this promising market sustainably, leveraging our extensive solution portfolio for midmarket value chains.”

“Proalpha has an excellent position in the German-speaking region. We therefore consider the acquisition the right next step for the future of our solutions,” says David J. Jacq, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mapex. “Until now, expanding beyond Spain has been difficult because our sales network was limited. We expect significant synergies here moving forward.”

International Expansion with a Best-of-Breed Approach

“With Mapex, we have been able to acquire one of the leading companies in the Spanish market for modern, highly flexible MES systems. For our ERP customers, this means even greater potential to successfully advance their shop floor digitalization,” emphasizes Eric Verniaut, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Proalpha Group. “The acquisition of this market leader also underscores our commitment to the proven best-of-breed strategy as we continue our international expansion.”

Continuity and Confidence for Customers and Partners

For Mapex’s customers and partners, this new phase translates into greater investment capacity, enhanced innovation, and a long-term value proposition, with no changes to existing points of contact or support structures. Mapex will continue to operate from Spain as a MES center of excellence within the group, reinforcing its strategic role in industrial digitalization.

“This transaction represents a major opportunity for Mapex,” says Peter Bolea, General Manager of Mapex. “Our company is on solid footing, with a strong customer base and a mature technology platform. Becoming part of Proalpha group allows us to accelerate our international strategy, access new markets, and deliver even greater value to our customers—while preserving the continuity of our team, culture, and long-term vision”.
