Yesterday, October 23, the third edition of Mapex Day was held at the Hotel Miramar in Barcelona, a key gathering for the Mapex community of clients and partners.
With over 140 professionals from 70 companies in attendance, the event offered first-hand insights into the digitalization experiences of leading companies such as Embutidos Martínez, Delta Tecnic, and Congelados de Navarra.
Additionally, it was the perfect opportunity to introduce Maik, Mapex’s AI assistant, highlighting its application in maintenance management at Meleghy Automotive.
During the event, the MapexBP web interface was also unveiled, designed to manage production from any device. We also debuted a new format: a roundtable discussion, which analyzed the role of the CEO and COO in the era of Industry 4.0 and data-driven leadership.
The event has once again established itself as a collaborative space to promote networking and knowledge sharing, strengthening connections within the Mapex community and highlighting best practices in digital transformation.

The value that Mapex brings to our clients’ factories
Mapex Day stands out each year for the real stories of innovation and continuous improvement that our clients share firsthand.
Embutidos Martínez
Roberto López, CTO of Familia Martínez, presented the project for implementing Mapex’s MES system at Embutidos Martínez.
The company chose Mapex following the positive experience of Platos Tradicionales with our software, which facilitated a rapid adoption of the solution, allowed process standardization, enabled KPI analysis under a unified framework, and provided a cross-functional view of information at the corporate level.
The project, developed in multiple phases, has delivered clear benefits in coordination, operational efficiency, data consistency, cost control, and daily plant management, making it easier to identify areas for improvement.

Delta Tecnic
Marco Raba, Process Engineer at Delta Tecnic, explained how Mapex has helped them connect data from their different plants (two in Sant Celoni and one in Mexico) and standardize processes.
As a result, the company has improved data analysis and decision-making, increased overall OEE, optimized changeover and setup times, and reduced customer complaints.

Congelados de Navarra
The visual factory has also been a key highlight in the presentation of Congelados de Navarra’s success story.
Anselmo Pinilla, Digital Transformation Manager, and Guillermo Pérez, Lean Improvement Engineer, shared how Mapex has helped them digitalize their manufacturing plants, achieving improvements in production, quality, traceability, and materials provisioning at the shop floor.
The presentation demonstrated how Mapex’s MES adapts to the company’s growth, which has doubled its revenue in just five years, and how it focuses on process automation and digitalization to maintain its high standards of quality and safety.

Panel discussion on data-driven leadership
Yesterday, we also debuted a new format: the roundtable discussion.
Four industry leaders shared their vision on using technology to improve decision-making and why it is important to support this transformation with effective cultural change management.
Andreu Carol, CEO of Delta Tecnic; Xavier Ferré, Operations Managing Director at Borges Agricultural & Industrial Edible Oils; Martina Font, Corporate Director at Font Packaging Group; and Javier Nieto, COO of Laboratorios Belloch, agreed that the key lies in combining human expertise with technology to drive competitiveness, efficiency, and sustainability.

Carol emphasized the need for “patience and a focus on people” to ensure that digitalization truly becomes a tool for continuous improvement. Ferré highlighted that “digital transformation is, above all, a cultural change that requires aligning IT and operations.”
Meanwhile, Font stressed that “leadership from management is essential for turning data into decisions, not just control,” while Nieto pointed out that “the real challenge is not technical but cultural: getting teams to trust the data and use it to drive improvement.”
During the discussion, everyone agreed that AI, data analytics, and digitalization are redefining operational models, and that the future of industrial leadership will need to be both data-driven and human-centered.
Maik, Mapex’s AI: theory and use case at Meleghy Automotive
Our clients’ experiences are always the highlight of each Mapex Day edition, and this year we showcased it even more by including a specific use case and live demos in the product updates section.

After introducing Mapex’s AI assistant, Maik, and its main features, we wanted to show how it has been integrated into Meleghy Automotive’s operations to optimize maintenance management.
Thanks to this Proof of Concept, this automotive company can leverage Mapex’s artificial intelligence as a guide to identify and resolve breakdowns more quickly and efficiently, improving productivity and reducing downtime in its plants.
Supply chain trends to conclude the day
Slimstock led the afternoon session with a presentation on how to move from complexity to control in supply chain planning
Arnau Peris and Luis Rodríguez presented the success story of MTR, a metallurgical company of the Celsa Group and a Mapex client, to demonstrate that competitiveness does not depend on producing more, but on planning better.
The example highlighted how advanced technologies can improve demand forecasting accuracy, optimize inventories, and enable smarter purchasing decisions, directly impacting organizational profitability and efficiency.

Mapex Day 2025 concluded a day full of learning, innovation, and collaboration, clearly demonstrating that technology and data are the driving forces shaping the future of industry.
